Holiday Crafting 2010
Here are a few of the crafts I have done for this Holiday season. Our NICU is a huge supporter for March of Dimes so each year we come up with a Christmas Ornament to sell for the cause. We put the babies footprints on these ornaments as a special keepsake for parents and family members.
This year we added a fall ornament which was a pumpkin magnet. They were really cute and a hit with the babies.
Pick a Pumpkin Magnet Proceeds went to March of Dimes |
A tiny Footprint went on these magnets...Adorable! |
One of my all time favorite Ornaments to make. I have made these for years with my kids. We decoupage their SCHOOL PICTURE on the back and they write their name and year. It's so fun to pull them out each year when we decorate the tree. Our tree looks great with all of these ornaments hanging on it!
Option for March of Dimes footprint Christmas Ornaments These are my favorite but the girls decided on the other option. |
I think these earrings are a fabulous addition to your Christmas Attire! BLING!
Sparkling Snowman Earrings...Stunning! |

The Color Red
Testing Out a New Product for RED coloring today. It is Ameri Color : Super Red. I have
a hard time with the color red in baking without getting the bad taste. Wilton Paste doesn't even work.
Today I tested it on my Shortbread and basic Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough.
With some of the cookie dough I added one of my new favorite things...
Andes Peppermint Crunch Baking Chips!! Oh My these are so yummy!
I also put them in Chocolate Cookie Dough.....YUM!

Love Sweetie Cakes
Did I mention I love to Bake??
I literally have to bake almost everyday that I am not working.
Really! Everyday. That is like four days a week I am cranking out some baked goods.
I was doing it so much that I started baking and selling the items.
I love baking everything from cookies to breads. I just like to keep it different and fun.
Not the same old stuff all the time. I like to change it up!

Quick and Easy Dinner 20 minutes Tops!!
So I really just threw this together one evening for dinner and it was Delicious and Healthy!!
This is what I used in this wonderful dish:
1 tbsp. chopped garlic
1 medium onion chopped
2 Frozen Chicken Breasts
Ziploc Steamer bags
1 Tbsp Olive oil
2 cups Ready to Serve Chicken flavored Minute Rice
Place both FROZEN Chicken Breasts in Ziploc Steamer Bag and place in microwave for 7 minutes.
Add olive oil to large pan and heat to medium temperature Add Sugar Snap Peas and garlic. Saute for about 3-5 minutes. You still want the crunch in the snap pea and you don't want the garlic to burn. Remove from pan and set aside. Add to pan mushrooms and onion. Saute until tender and all liquid is gone.
While mushrooms are in the pan remove chicken from microwave. Cook rice according to package directions.
Thin slice the chicken using fork and knife...it's hot!
Add chicken in with mushrooms and onion and stir fry until chicken has some color.
Place snow peas back in with chicken and mushrooms.
Toss rice in pan just to combine. Serve
I served with whole wheat bread and butter and sliced pears in their own juice.
The kids loved it as well!

This is the quick and easy version of a Gingerbread House. Hot glue the house together. All the kids want to do is get to the decorating. After years of waiting for the frosting to dry I decided to hot glue. We never eat the house ayway. Only the candy!!
One tub of vanilla icing and candy from kit. Sometimes I add more but this year we just used what we had in the box.
Let them have a blast. Fun!!

Peppermint Chocolate Delights
Tried a new recipe today and OH MY!! Are they ever good!.It's snowing outside today in Tennessee.
What a cozy day to create a new Christmas Cookie. Christmas music on the IPOD, Lasagna is in the oven and Cheesy Potato Soup on the stove. We are getting our jammies on early and watching ELF. Good Times.
Oh and today I forgot to put on mascara before Church. Well today was Baptism day and needless to say I'm glad I forgot the mascara. It would have been gone anyway.I love our new Church. This was our first experience in seeing adults being baptised and it was beautiful. I loved it! Happy Sunday =)

Lots of Sweet Treats coming out of the oven this Holiday Season. The kitchen smells Wonderful!
From top to bottom...Molasses Snowflakes, who would have thought Molasses Cookie dough is so easy to work with for cutouts. Polish Kolachky, fruit filled delicate pastry dough melts in your mouth. Plus, its not overly sweet so you can eat more than one. French Puffs, great for Christmas Morning! Molasses Red Tree Cookies for my favorite local Coffee Shop Restaurant! They are big so it's like a meal with coffee. Last but not least I have to make something for all of the kids teachers. A box of Sweetie Cakes Cupcakes decorated for Christmas! Yum!!
